Anyone that knows me knows that New York City is my most favorite place - it is a city I've always loved, the place I plan on moving to, and the most magical come Christmas time. In my eyes there is a certain magic to the city all year round, but I don't think anyone can disagree that there is something about Christmastime there that is hard to beat!

I can't believe we are already almost one week into December! I feel like Christmas is going to be here and gone so quickly and it will be the New Year before we know it. The holiday season always seems to go by rather fast, so I am trying to make the most of it. Gratitude

The universe has a funny way of doing a lot of things and this past Tuesday was no exception.

I woke up very early Tuesday morning, in a bit of distress truthfully. The kind of distress that occurs only after awakening from a bad, bad dream. In my case, a bad dream, a nightmare really, in which I was not dead, but very close to it. The kind of dream where waking up provides a wave of relief like no other, and yet still feels so real it shakes you to your core. I was shaken, but awake, alive and went on with my day - grateful that my dream was not my reality.

Happy Friday friends! Sorry for being M.I.A lately - it's been a crazy couple of weeks but in the best possible way! I'm going to be sharing what I've been up to in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned! Hope you all have fun plans in store for this weekend. The weather looks like it's going to be amazing, and if you're in New England, it's the perfect time for all the fall festivities. Whatever you end up doing this weekend, I hope it's a good one. JET SET CANDY //  I had heard of this brand in the past but in all honesty didn't know much about it past the name. On my recent trip to New York City, I stumbled upon a Jet Set Candy pop-up store in Grand Central and fell in love with everything about it. I am not even kidding when I say I probably spent a good forty minutes just admiring everything from the wide array of different pieces in the collection to how much detail and thought went into making it. I was very impressed! I walked away empty handed because there were just too many options to choose from in such a short amount of time, but with an upcoming birthday and the holidays right around the corner, you can bet it's on my wish list!

J.Crew Pink Rollneck Sweater

If I'm being honest, a bright pink sweater doesn't exactly scream fall, however, there was just something about it that I was so drawn to. I'm a true girly-girl, which may be part of the attraction to pink pieces, but I also just loved the idea of throwing a little bit of brighter colors into my fall wardrobe. It's definitely not your traditional dark, muted fall tones, but I'm totally loving it!

I had fun pairing this sweater with white denim and these adorable leopard mules - definitely styled more for early fall. As we get later in the season, this sweater can be paired with darker colors to help tone down the pink while still keeping it fun and appropriate for fall. How cute would it be paired with this green army jacket!? It's such a versatile piece that the options for styling it are endless.

P.S - I packed this sweater on my recent trip to Florida and it got so much use! I honestly might have worn it almost everyday I was there. Perfect for throwing on in air conditioning and was even super cute paired with denim shorts.  I have no doubt that this will be a perfect sweater all year round.

Florida in Lilly

Friday Finds No. 22

Happy Friday friends! I have a very exciting couple weeks coming up, including a trip to Florida and a long weekend in my favorite city, so I was extra excited for the arrival of this Friday! With the weather here in New England lately, a week in Florida won't feel all that different from home, but I am still so excited for some much needed R&R and family time. It is the first vacation my family has taken together in quite a while, so I am thrilled to be spending a week in a beautiful place with my favorite people. Don't Regret Your Twenties // I always love when I stumble across these. There is a multitude of similarly written articles talking about a similar theme of not letting your twenties go to waste. They're always an easy read and leave me feeling reinvigorated to make the absolute most of your twenties, and honestly of your life.

Talking Ambition with Reese Witherspoon // This article is everything. I read it, and then read it again, and I think again. It is that good and it is that inspiring. So much so that I think I want to get a hard copy of it and frame it on my wall. The message that Reese so perfectly shares is one that every woman should hear - and honestly guys too. Her words are motivational and so inspiring.

Fall Favorites: Velvet

Well we officially made it to fall, and in my opinion that means goodbye to any an all summertime clothing! I've been ready for weeks to transition my wardrobe over to fall and now I'm going for it. There are styles, colors, and fabrics that are often fall staples and that year after year make a comeback, and then there are those more trendy styles. I am loving the fall trends of 2017, so much so that I decided to make a little mini-series here on Faith & Fancy to highlight them. Over the next few weeks, I'll be rounding up some of my favorites from each trend to share with you all. First up, velvet!

Velvet is such a beautiful and luxe fabric that I have always loved incorporating into my wardrobe here and there. If I'm being honest, I often associate it more with Christmas and New Years, but I am thrilled to be seeing it pop up into the scene a little bit sooner! When done the right way it is elegant, feminine and adds just the right amount of depth to any outfit. Although it is trending right now, it is by no means a 'trendy' fabric, and I think it is a style that everyone can get on board with!

Happy Friday friends and happy first day of fall! As sad as I am to see summer come to a close, the arrival of fall makes saying goodbye a little bit easier. Today marks the official first day of fall - yay! - and I thought it would be fun to share what I have on my to-do list this fall. For those, of you in the New England area, you know that the weather doesn’t seem to want to let go of summer either. As much as I love the warm weather, I am definitely ready for some cooler fall temps around here! I’m hoping that day is right around the corner and I can enjoy some of the activities on my list in some more seasonal weather.

A Farewell to Summer & Trusting the Seasons of Your Life

Well here we are, the weekend after Labor Day - one week closer to fall and one week further from the end of summer. This time of year, a brief transitional period between the end of what we know as summer and the official beginning Fall, is always bittersweet. While it is of course exciting that Fall is just around the corner, I can't help but always feel a bit sad when summer says adieu. It stems from moving on from the wonderful memories made, and I'm sure I can speak for many when I say that endings are just not my thing, regardless of how much finality they carry. Twenty-three years of life and the end of summer is just as bittersweet now as it was as a kid trading in bathing suits for back-packs. At this point I've accepted that it likely always will be, and that's okay. But I've also come to accept that the seasons will always change - we are never stuck in one, nor do we get to stay in the good ones for ever. Such is life.

I took a stroll through J.Crew last week, and was so impressed with just about all of their new arrivals for fall. If I'm being honest, over the summer I was (do I dare say) disappointed with some of their line. It wasn't awful by any means, but it just wasn't the J. Crew I know and love. This fall line however, is amazing. J.Crew you've redeemed yourself.

Friday Finds No. 21

Happy Friday friends and long time now see! Sorry for being a little bit M.I.A as of late - between end of summer festivities and work it's been harder to bring you fresh content, but I promise to be better! A little hiatus has helped fuel the creative fire in me and I can't wait to bring new exciting posts to Faith & Fancy as summer nears a close and fall starts to roll in. Stay tuned!

August Wish List

As the days start to get a little bit shorter and the nights start to have a little bit more chill to them, I find myself reaching for the things I will miss most once the seasons change. August days are some of my favorite but each passing day is a bittersweet reminder that our summer days will soon run out long before we are ready. And with that, I find myself soaking up all the summer things - food, activities, and of course, that summer attire. The easy, breezy, carefree look that can only be found between the months of June and August is one of my favorites. It is and always will be my season of preference, especially when it comes to creating the perfect summertime look.
